Looking for recommendations for a reasonably priced photographer around NYC for my wedding in July 2014. I’m interested in a Bridal Session and an Engagement Session.. I’m not sure about a Day-After Session.

What do you consider “reasonable”? Reasonable in NYC is not reasonable in the rest of the country…
My sister and fiance are planning their wedding across the river in NJ. (Englewood Park) and I believe they have decided to go with Diya Studios Photography.
They were very down to earth and he provided the simple/modern look they were looking for.
Another recommendations was The Pros Photography at https://www.thepros.com/.
Not sure what type of wedding day coverage you are looking for and what reasonable means.. but NYC NJ area photographers are usually very expensive because of the location.
@monicab922: Dear Stacey!! Look her up online and on facebook. Shes fantastic!!
@bkrocks13: +1
@monicab922: How much are you looking to spend? Photography varies greatly, esp in NYC!
Look into photographers on Long Island willing to travel to the city. They may charge an extra fee for the travel, but it may save you a bundle in the long run. Look outside Manhattan and you’ll find a lot better prices.

I haven’t used her, but she’s an old friend and she’s got beautiful photos up on her page. Her rates are there too. Looks like it’s 2,100 for a full day. Not sure if that’s within your budget.
I am using Alex Kaplan’s company. They quoted me $900 for one photographer for 6 hours.
I would highly recommend Divine Light Photography. I used them for my wedding in FL, but they have now moved to NYC and do a lot of weddings there. My understanding is that since they are newer to the NYC market they are “underpricing” themselves for now to get into the market. (In FL, their pricing is in the higher tier bracket). They are a husband and wife team – I absolutely loved all my photographs and have received a ton of compliments.
If you have a smaller budget check upstate a bit or PA. Many travel and its almost half the price because the cost of living is not the same.
NYC is easily $400-$600+ per hour. Upstate and PA is $250-$350+ per hour for a quality photographer.
@marissal7901: OMG, such a small world! We also went with Diya Studios Photography!
I highly recommend them if you want quality service, awesome pictures, and professionalism with low cost photographer. There were many photographers that we had met with that wanted 400+ an hour; but we decided to go with the Diya team.
