To be able to help, we need more info, ie:

– what’s your idea of reasonably priced?

– what do you expect it to include (just a space? food & alcohol? seated dinner or cocktail party?)

– for around how many people?

– is this for 2013? A lot of places in nyc are likely to be booked, as sept is a pretty popular month for weddings.

@jmsche:  You need to give more details. What area of NYC? The outer boroughs are not as expensive as the city. Are you willing to go to NJ or LI?

What’s the defintion of “reasonably” prcied? If you mean low cost at a certain price point you personally are comfortable with, that’s one meaning. Or still be considered expensive, but reasonable because of other factors, that’s another meaning. As you can see, it could mean different things to different people.

We are throwing a 5 hour reception with open bar for 15k for the venue, booze, staff and cleanup at a pretty posh place that is NOT a wedding venue (for 110 people.) Food isn’t included in that price.  I would highly recommend checking out restaurants that have event rooms or will let you do a buyout- the pricing is SO much more reasonable than any venue that frequently does weddings.

good luck!
