I’ve got really fine AND thin hair, I’m so self-conscious about it and a few (dickhead) people have pointed it out over the years.
So I was dreading my hair trial, but the hairdresser has made it look like I’ve got a full head of normal hair! This is probably going to sound ridiculous but I felt more emotional about this than my dress, I am just so relieved it looks ok.
I just wanted to post this to reassure other bees that might be fretting over a similar thing, if you’ve got minimal hair do not worry, all sorts of magic can be done! And if anyone is looking at this thinking “her hair doesn’t look as thin as mine though” I can assure you it probably is, I’ve got a type genetic female hair loss for which there is no treatment, so it’s all about the cheating!

Your hair looks amazing! I would never have described it as fine or thin!
I also have fine, thin hair and I’ve always been self conscious about it. I’m dreading my hair trial 🙁 I wear my hair up most days for work (I don’t have to, it’s just much easier for me to tie it up in a quick ponytail or bun rather than spend ages battling with straighteners or curling tongs trying to make it look half decent!) so I’d prefer to wear my hair down on my wedding day. I would like to wear it in loose hollywood waves – but I’m definitely going to need some help from some extensions! I just hope my trial goes ok as I haven’t thought of a backup plan (or alternative up do!) yet!

This is a great thread and your hair looks beautiful! I am worrying about the same thing with my thin hair and my first trial went as bad it possibly could have. You look so wonderful! Thank you!

Love it! Where’d you get those pins/combs?

I am super nervous about my hair trial too. I have long hair that is thick in the back and thin on the top/sides. So I am dreading my hair trial too. Especially because I want a braided bun. I am hoping the hair and makeup artist can work some magic in, and make me feel good about myself! 🙂 You look absolutely gorgeous! Loving the hair combs also.

You look lovely. I have the thinnest hair in the world and it’s nice when you look like you’ve got a thick, full head of hair.

Oh wow! Yeah, this post definitely makes me feel so much better since I too have thin and fine hair. Every time I’ve asked about it or read posts about good wedding hairdos for brides in a similar spot, I always got the “just buy extensions” line and it frustrated the heck out of me! I don’t have money to spend on that and I don’t particularly want to have to pretend to have hair I don’t just so I can look pretty. So you’ve definitely given me a lot of hope since you look so beautiful!

your hair looks gorgeous. A friend of mine had genetic hair loss and has been trying to manage anemia. Her family doctor prescribed her rogaine 5% (3% does nothing). It took a year for it to really kick in but the results were amazing. Just throwing it out there for some hope to thinning ladies.
I highly, highly recommend batiste dry shampoo. They have over 12 types, most are good for blondes and they have one for brunettes and black hair also. Miracle product!!! can find it in select stores and on amazon for cheap. This product is the holy grail for thin hair. Covers the skin 100% so no scalp shows through!! Great for when taking pictures. Hides roots too! I promise if you try it you will love it.
ok done with my sales pitches ☺️ But there are so many great options out there so we don’t have to stress one more minute about how to hide thinner hair.

Thank you all so much for your kind words, I’m really happy that some of you have found this helpful too.
The hair comb was a bit of a find (again by the hairdresser not me!) it’s £12 from Claire’s accessories. They are UK based but you can buy online and they’ll send anywhere! Xx

your hair looks soooo gorgeous! I feel your pain with the thin fine hair. I have blonde hair naturally, so it looks even thinner than it is. i also have a really far back hair line, so for me, I’ve been coloring it a very dark auburn for a few months. My favorite part of hair coloring is when it is fresh and colors the tiny baby hairs in my “bald” spots, so you cant see them. And how much thicker my hair feels for a few days after coloring is always nice too!
