- Wedding: July 2012
I can finally write a recap since I have a few pictures from my photographer. I can’t wait to see the rest though!
My mom flew in the night before the wedding and I still had so much to do. She was supposed to fly in a couple days prior to help me out, but didn’t end up doing that. So I had to make all the mini pies, the cookies, the brownies, the strawberry lemonade and the cake myself.
My mom and I woke up early the day of. We had to go to the market to pick up fresh flowers and a few other things. My hair appt was at 11, so we were panicked and rushed. We decided to drop of my kids at my sisters to have her watch them while I got gussied up. My husband and step dad went to the location to put up the decorations and table. I had exactly 15 minutes after my hair/makeup to get to my sister’s house and get my kids ready and out the door. My friend showed up at my hair appt with Sbux which was heavenly and much needed.
After the appt and I was all prettied, we went to my sister’s house. My mom forgot her make up bag at my house which was 20 min away. We didn’t have time to go get it so she had to make do with the little make up my sister had. We were about 20 minutes behind, so I told everyone we had to leave now. I only had my photographer for 2 hours!
My photographer wanted us to do a first look so I texted my then-husband-to-be and asked him to meet us. He didn’t answer so I had to text my step dad to send him up there. She got a few pictures of us before the ceremony.
Of course, not all 23 guests showed up on time. We ran 30 minutes behind. We had to have someone go back and forth to the parking lot to bring the guests to our spot. It was a little unorganized. In the end, it all worked out. The ceremony litterally lasted about 5 minutes, but went perfectly. Our officiant/friend was AMAZING. He made our guests laugh, but also had some very sweet moments. Then we did a few more pictures before going to the resturaunt.
Our dinner was so good and the resturaunt did a great job with service, except for the fact that they put the cake in the WRONG room. But as soon as we mentioned it, they quickly brought it into our room. My husband and I were planning on going out after dinner, but we were honestly so exhausted we went home and went to bed. Ha ha!
All in all, it was a fabulous day. Lesson I learned: small and simple does not necessarily mean easier 😛
Here’s a few pictures I’ve received. I’ll post more when I get them.
