- Wedding: August 2011
My favorites are always the detail shots 🙂
These are chandeliers that my mom and I made. We used barrel rings, vintage crystals and hanging vases that my mom already owned. I think they turned out so fantastic!
My mom painted an old pew for Darling Husband and I to sit in during the reception, and I made the bride and groom sign. Needless to say, we did not get to sit in it ONCE the whole reception. Apparently no one reads. There were guests sitting in that dern bench all night. Oh well…
Our rings 🙂
The favors: we did wildflower confetti that guests could sprinkle in their gardens. I’d say half of them guests took home.
Centerpieces: (in the shade until it was closer to the wedding)
The benches for guests to sit on: (I made each and every one of those pillows! Go me! 🙂 – turned out to be 45 pillows altogether…)
Card mailbox – my mom sandblasted, re painted and stenciled an old rusty mailbox. She’s amazing!
Guest flip flops were added late in the game. I ordered the ‘ladies’ flip flops off of a wholesale website, and the colors said ‘assorted’. Apparently that means orange and blue. Oh well…guests loved them, and they were totally a necessity with all of that dancing!
My precious cake. A good family friend made this for us. The cake topper is vintage – my mom found it!
My mom found these really cool plant stands, and wanted to use them sooo bad. There were two of them, so we used them to ‘mark’ where guests were supposed to go for the ceremony. We got a bunch of paint buckets for $2 each and put flowers in them. Ta da!
Aisle decorations: a single hydrangea with a ribbon. Simple and still elegant 🙂
We borrowed wine barrels from friends of ours who are winery owners, and took the top off of our dining table. We covered the dining table with sheet plastic and voila! I bought the drink dispensers online and served tea and spa water, along with the booze.
And last but not least, the front of the aisle, where we got married!
We borrowed those urns from my godmother and put potted hydrangeas in them.
Sooo many little things, that make up the big picture!
My last recap will be bloopers/funny pictures. xoxo!
