- Wedding: August 2016
BEEEEES!!!!! Can’t believe I am posting my recap! We’ve been married just over a month, and while really nothing has changed for us (we have been together 6 years and lived together for 5 years before getting married) it really is wonderful to officially be husband and wife. Sorry if the photos are huge and that there are so many but I just LOVE all of them and wanted to share as I want to let brides know you truly can have a beautiful wedding day without spending 100k. If you have any questions ask away, I would love to help those ladies that are just starting to plan, and if you’re in Toronto, I would recommend EVERY SINGLE ONE of my vendors, they were all incredible to work with!
I started my day off at my house with my ladies and we had two hair and makeup artists come to pretty us up!
So I actually had a stunning pair of blue sparkly flats that were supposed to be my “something blue” but when I went to my dress fittings the rough texture of the sparkles kept getting caught on the inside of my dress. So alas – these lovely Town Shoes flats were bought about a week before the wedding, but I have to say they were incredibly comfortable, I have no regrets.
My jewellry was my “something borrowed”. It belongs to my maid of honours mother. I had actually been looking at purchasing something very similar and was talking to her about it when she mentioned she had this and would be more than happy to lend it to me. Saved me a nice chunk and also had the sentimentality for both of us.
So for any of you ladies thinking about mismatched dresses – I say do it! My girls were all different shapes and sizes, so I chose a brand and two colours and had each of them select their own style dress. I think it turned out gorgeous!
I bought these nightgowns and robes for my ladies to wear the morning of as part of their bridesmaid gift. They were super soft so I’m sure they will get more wear instead of monogrammed or embroidered ones.
My husband (<3) and the rest of the guys got ready at my sister in laws house as we live very close to one another.
That’s my husband’s brother in law pinning on his corsage. Love this picture of them, obviously a heartwarming moment.
Because there always has to be a silly shot right?
We decided to do a first look before the ceremony for logistical reasons mostly, but I was glad that we had this time before the wedding with just us and our bridal party.
He literally gasped when he saw me I swear. Such a sweetheart this guy of mine. 🙂
Cannot say enough amazing things about my florist. She understood EXACTLY what I was looking for, all of the florals for the wedding were stunning.
My handsome groom and his groomsmen. They clean up pretty well right?
I’m thinking this is the photo we will be using for our thank you cards.
Our photo location was the Humber Arboretum. It was definitely a gorgeous day, a little too warm for me in a bridal dress, but I’ll take it!
Again – The flowers! AAAAAMMMMMAAAAAZZZZIIINGGGG! I was obsessed with how well the flowers brough together the bridesmaids dresses.
The littles – My neice and nephew were our flower girl and ring bearer. Her dress was a custom order from Etsy if anyone is interested – incredibly well made for the price!
Can you tell I loved my flowers? 😀
Check out that good looking bridal party though…
These are lyrics from the song 11:11 by the Arkells. We played this song while we signed the register during our ceremony. It has special significance to us because any time we see 12:34 on my clock, we message each other ‘I love you’.
DIY’d our place cards and these frames.
I made these ‘thank you’ ferreros to put at each place setting. Super easy, super cute.
I also spray painted the table numbers and votives on each table. Am looking to sell them if anyone is interested!
Our ceremony was short and sweet – less than a half hour – so I wasn’t super concerned with decor for that area, but my decor vendor definitely did it justice! I loooove gooooooooooold!
That face he’s making at me…. melting all over again!
We wanted our ceremony to be full of personal moments and love, but very lighthearted, and our officiant was awesome. There were a couple good laughs through out.
The kiss! My neice’s face in this kills me every time! She was so excited.
Right after it was made legal! This picture is just so very us. <3
This picture. This is my favourite picture. I don’t know what it is about it, but I just LOVE IT.
Our venue was amazing! It was so beautiful to begin with that we really didn’t have to do that much.
Happy to have the “hard part” over with and now we just get to relax and have fun.
Our first dance as husband and wife 😀
Our Best Man and Maid of Honour did a speech together and he was SO NERVOUS but he absoutely killed it! Had the whole room in the palm of his hand, laughing and awwing at all the right moments.
Love this photo when they finished their speeches.
Just a shot to show the head table
Close up of our rings – custom made.
Ok the serious part is over lets get on the dance floor!
My 92 year old grandmother had a blast!
We just wanted a big party where everyone would eat and drink and dance their asses off – and they did!
Last picture of the night. <3
