- Wedding: May 2011
As some of you know my husband and I have been married for 6 years. However due to military our first wedding was extremely rushed, very small, and totally not “us.” we decided to have a wedding vow renewal ceremony (aka REAL WEDDING) on our 6 year anniversary.
I had been stalking the weather for weeks. Everything said 100% chance of Rain and Severe Thunderstorms. The night before we had a crazy storm and i was just scared to death it would rain on our outdoor ceremony the next day. My mom and I woke up at 7am and headed to the reception site (very old historic home) to set most everything up. The rain had stopped and it was beautiful outside! We had a few little mishaps throughout the day but I couldnt have asked for a more beautiful and meaningful ceremony. It was seriously the best day of my entire life. Im so lucky to have such an amazing husband, great family and friends and the chance to be part of this encouraging and uplifting board! (got lots of ideas and inspiration from here 🙂
Pros: weather was gorgeous
photographer was amazing
the food was AMAZING
I was so overwhelmed with happiness i started to get teary eyed haha husband would say funny stuff to me to get me to giggle instead and everyone just loved that lol.
closest family and friends were there.
LOVED our ceremonyreception site.
A certain family member left the video camera in the kitchen so we didnt get it on video 🙁
ran out of forks haha so everyone just used spoons when they went back for seconds.
about 20ppl never showed up that said they absolutely without a doubt would be there. I wish i would of known…. we wouldnt have needed to set up as many tables, or pay more than we needed to for ceremony site (based off attendance)
People left a little earlier than I expected but with it being on a Sunday i kinda expected it… most ppl had to go back to work on monday, I didnt get a chance to thank everyone in person….
but like husband said; the money goes to restoring and conserving the site so its not wasted money… and the day wasnt about them anyway. the most important people were there 🙂
the pro pics arent in yet but here are a couple that my SIL took for me 🙂
