- Wedding: May 2014
I don’t even know where to start other than to say this Saturday I married my best friend and it was the best day of our lives. Thanks to a combination of this website and Pinterest, I’ve heard from at least 20 of our guests that it was the best wedding they had ever attended. I know I certainly agree! 🙂
Our ceremony was held at a Catholic church. As Darling Husband and I have both lost our fathers, we walked our mothers down the aisle. I had planned to have mums in my bouquet but there just happened to be a lilac tree outside the church. I knew the flowers wouldn’t last but it had always been my dream to have lilacs in my bouquet and so my step-dad went and got some for my bouquet! Here is a guest photo of my mother and me down the aisle.
After a very nice ceremony we shared our first kiss:
We came out the doors to find all of our favorite people in the world cheering for us! We gave them what they wanted — another kiss!
We hoped on our pink party bus to go grab some photos:
As we took photos, our Sangria cocktail hour started. Guests were treated to our beer and wine choices plus red and white sangrias, a popcorn bar, and veggie, cheese, and cracker appetizer trays. Here are a few shots (from before the wedding so the actual food isn’t out yet):
They came in and here is what they saw:
Goodie bags for the kiddos:
To get the party started we had lawn games and a photobooth:
Here are some of my fave photobooth shots:
Two of my besties with my mom!
Two of our friends framing their baby!
My litlte sister and flower girl wrote a special message for Darling Husband and me:
My uncle partying all by himself:
My college friends and the two of us, throw your hands up!:
And, of course, Darling Husband and me (check out his golf tee bout!):
Here was our menu:
And, of course, a dessert bar:
We shared our first meal together at a sweetheart table:
We played the Mission Impossible photo run where we ran around to get a photo with each table and then kicked off the dancing with our first dance to Ingrid Michaelson’s The Way I Am:
As you can imagine, the guest photos died down as everyone was out on the dance floor partying it up. We offered a late night nacho bar also. Every time I turned around I saw all of the people we loved having a wonderful time. There were a few things that I noticed didn’t go exactly as I had planned and then I quickly reminded myself that I was LITERALLY the only person who knew this. And that was that. My husband and I had just the most amazing day. I honestly cannot believe how perfectly everything turned out. I would not change a thing. 🙂 I’ll just add more pro pics once we get them!
