- Wedding: June 2010
It has been sooo long since I have posted on weddingbee, but this is where I received so much support and help along the way, that I wanted to share how it all turned out.
Late into the planning process (two months out) my Fiance and I decided to scrap our huge wedding, because it was turning into something that we had NEVER wanted. We decided to keep it simple, we would keep our wedding party and have our parents at the church one afternoon as we said our vows.
Revisiting one of the first statements my Fiance ever jokingly said to me, “You can’t surprise me, I’m unsurprisable,” and a one of the first things he said about our wedding, “My dream wedding is us, our parents, and outdoors somewhere nice,” I schemed the “unimaginable” with the help of my parents: To surprise my groom with a wedding!
Since we had already arranged for the photographers, my Fiance bought the excuse that I wanted him to dress nice and come and take pictures with me one afternoon. My parents’ best friends own a huge plot of gorgeous land, and they offered it to me as soon as my dad told them what was going on. The sneaky-ness and the planning was crazy, but with the help of the only people who were “in” on it, my parents, sister, the family friends who owned the “venue” and the best man, we pulled it off – my HUSBAND’S dream wedding, and a fantastically fun evening. It was so perfect.
THANK YOU WEDDINGBEE FOR EVERYTHING!!!
(Apologizing in advance if I go crazy with pictures, lol)
