- Wedding: October 2010
We woke up at the Ritz and had a lazy morning. A bit after 11am, we started moving around getting ready to check out and head to my house to make sure everything was ready for the reception.
Our best surprise of the day came when we got home and found an email from our friends Toon and Marijke with 3 pictures of us from our wedding!!! And they weren’t just any pictures – they were AMAZING!! So I scrambled around printing them out and framing them so I could take them to the reception to show off and give people a glimpse of the wedding the day before. The awesome pics:
In the meantime I had my mom asking why my wedding planner hadn’t picked things up, the baker calling to find out the address, Will (photographer) calling to find out what time I’d like him there by, and the day got busy. I say busy but not crazy! Unlike the day before, this day was a day to relax and have fun and NOT stress and I was taking that to heart.
So I texted Erin (wedding planner) and found out that they were planning to pick things up prior to the reception and that they were leaving within 30 mins, gave the baker the address, and talked to Will about the hours that we had the reception venue and what hours were most important to me. He volunteered to come early to get some of the setup and I think that totally rocks!
Anton and I were planning to get to the reception venue a bit earlier then the 5pm reception start time, but due to having unexpected delays in getting ready (lots of family in the house) we ended up getting there pretty much right at 5pm. From there it was non-stop until the end!
We arrived at the center and saw a fair number of people were already there and just dove right into greeting people and thanking them for coming and just chitchatting. In fact we did that until probably close to 7pm when we finally had made it through all the tables and decided to grab some food and eat.

Last but not least of my pro pic inclusive pages are the reception pics. I’m going to include 5 groupings of pics for this – random favorite shots of people and the reception in general, first dance, father/daughter dance, cake cutting, posed shots, and non-pros. Other then that, these aren’t really in any particular order, and every so often I’ll be adding in non-pro pics that I love as well. **As a note, we didn’t have dancing other then the 2 dances listed, so that’s why you won’t see any other dancing photos! lol
First off – The venue! We had our reception at the gorgeous Norman P Murray Center in Mission Viejo. Here are some shots that I took when we went to view it:
Random reception shots (just a note – I loved that people kept coming up to me at the reception and showing me something they had written or drawn on the guest book pages I made! You can see that in this first pic):
Us with our wedding cake early on in the evening, and then showing it off to one of our very good friends from the online game that Anton and I met while playing:
I don’t know what it is about this picture, but it’s awesome and I smile every time I see it:
This little girl is the daughter of some of our friends from game, and she is just the cutest! She was so delighted to hold the bouquet of “the beautiful lady in the princess dress” and I was so tickled to hear from her mom later that she asked if I was Cinderella!
We finally ate!
