- Wedding: May 2014
Yay! The time has come to share! Darling Husband and I were married on May 31st at a beautiful, charming vintage home. The weather was in the 80’s and overcast, which I was so happy for because our ceremony and reception was outdoors. Overcast is also excellent for photography! The day went unbelievably smooth and was so much fun! I had people saying what a laid back and calm bride I was. I guess all of the OCD list making was worth it after all. I decided last minute to do my own hair in a natural style instead of flat ironing and I am so glad that I did! I loved the way it came out!
I started with my makeup at 9am until 10 am. I had mini muffins and fruit waiting for my maids and they brought champagne and OJ for mimosas. Then all of the bridesmaids and my mother went thereafter in 30 minute increments. Bridesmaids and flower girl were dressed at 1pm. We had subway sandwiches delivered for lunch at 12 noon and I got dressed around 1:30pm after the photog arrived. He got the detail shots, the getting dressed shots and went to get the guys pics. It was seamless! At 3:30pm Bridal pics were done and I was sitting cooling off having water, champagne and a shot to celebrate! I cannot brag enough on our photog Reggie Dandy!!!!! He captured that day so marvelously! It’s true the day does go by so fast!
We had Lemon/Lime water and Strawberry infused water for our waiting guests. The ceremony was beautiful. Darling Husband was in tears, I mean ugly crying when I came down the aisle! 🙂 I was a ball of nerves walking down and cried, but I was fine when I got down to the altar. We did our own vows and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when my Darling Husband recited his. Gosh, they were so beautiful, he was so choked up while reading them. I breezed through mine, I was cried out so I couldn’t cry anymore. LOL!
I danced all night at the reception! The food was above and beyond what I expected! We had a major car repair and had to switch to heavy appetizers of crab stuffed mushrooms, meatballs, chicken wings, stuffed new potatoes, spring rolls, and shrimp cocktail with garden salad and house dressing. The open bar, specialty drink and kids craft table was a hit! I discovered I am terrible at throwing a bouquet and had to have a do over! LOL! We did a sparkler exit and I absolutely cannot wait to see those pro pics! The night went by so fast, and I wished Darling Husband and I could have spent more time but we were so busy making sure our guests were acknowledged since we had so many out of town guests. We did have dinner together though and that was great. The entire wedding & Honeymoon was about $11K for 150guests. I’m am just elated!!!!!!!!!
Here are some guest pics!!!
When we got back from our honeymoon our photog had some teasers for us via email!!!! I squealed I loved them so much!!!!!!!! Take a look!
