Our budget is a bit over that, but we know a couple who got married very affordably – they:

  • Had their ceremony in a church
  • Rented a barn located in a park, which they were able to decorate the night before
  • Cooked their own food

We weren’t at the wedding, but it the pictures look lovely.

@brokeninnj:  It hasn’t happened yet, but our wedding will cost us $10k, but it’s easy to scale down to $7k since I splurged on some extras that you may not find necessary (i.e. I got three dresses, pricy invites, etc.).

We’re having our reception in Union City, NJ at a restaurant, and our ceremony at City Hall in Manhattan. Our restaurant bill came out to be a little over $7k, but that’s with 63 or so guests + four hours of open bar, buffet dinner, and appetizers. This is where our reception will be held:

What I love about the events package is that there is NO wedding premium. I would pay the same whether it was a wedding, birthday party, or corporate event.

A small budget wedding in this area can definitely be done! 🙂

@brokeninnj:  It doesn’t need to be a place that “caters”- a lot of restaurants will cater for a lot less money! I had my graduation party catered by a local italian restaurant, have you looked into options like that?

@brokeninnj:  Honestly, no idea, except that it’s somewhere in Sussex County… I’ll ask around and update if I find out!
