- Wedding: August 2011
Now it was time to do our thang.
Honestly, I was pretty nervous. Not to get married, but to be in front of that many people and was worried I’d trip, or that I’d mess up…you know. Normal stuff.
Darling Husband was as calm as a cucumber, however:
Guests started arriving, and enjoyed our spa water by the program fans:
and started taking their seats:
My brother sat my grandmothers:
The best man sat the mothers:
And all of the groomsmen walked to the front of the aisle.
My BM/cousin was playing her guitar during the ceremony, so she was already up there, with the guys.
Once they were in place, my good friend and sort-of DOC came in and said, “It’s time!”. I can’t even express to you ladies, how I felt at that moment. Nervous, excited, happy…just…all good things 🙂
I grabbed my dad’s arm, and lined up behind my girls. They walked down the aisle one by one, while my cousin played ‘Blackbird’ acoustic.
..and then it was my turn! I walked down the aisle to ‘Falling in love in a coffee shop’.
ETA: I should mention that my BMs were blubbering. I couldn’t look at them, or I would start!! Jerks 🙂
I saw him, and I felt like it was just he and I:
We had a good family friend do our ceremony, and he was fantastic!
DH’s cousin did a reading for us:
And then we said our vows. We decided to write our own, and I’m sooo glad we did. It felt so much more personal to say what we promised to each other. I’m not going to lie, we both waited until 2 days before to do them, but did them!
And the rings:
And were announce husband and wife! The kiss 🙂
Ow ow, right?!
YAY! WE DID IT!! 🙂
Everyone says that the ceremony is a blur, so I tried really hard to be present. Everytime I began to get emotional, Darling Husband would wink at me, and I’d come back. He’s my rock!
Now that we were married, we took off to do photos of he and I.
Stay tuned! 🙂
