I don’t know about the hairline receding on one side, but could be it your thyroid?

Also, it could be related to hormones and caused by various conditions like PCOS.

Would be best to get a blood test done.

Do you unintentionally rip off your hair, wear your hair in a tight bun or ponytail, or leave it in towel when it’s wet?

It could be androgenic alopecia. You should get blood tests to check your hormone levels.

I’m dealing with a bunch of hair fall and went to the Doctor.  My iron ferritin level was at the low end of the normal range 13.  But normal is for the body to function not to stop hair loss or help with regrowth.  Iron level should be in the 50 range to stop hair fall and in the 70-80 range for regrowth. Also check D3 and B-12 levels.  New birth control or stress can also cause hair loss.  Iron deficiency can mimic female hair pattern baldness.  It can take awhile to get iron levels back to normal.  My doctor recommended iron supplements to be taken with orange juice (avoid dairy, coffee, tea) at time you take it because it can block absorption of iron.  This might not be your issue, but something to look into with your doctor to advise (iron supplements can be toxic if not needed).  I noticed thinning more on one side of my part then other and at the crown.  Wish you the best, I know the fear and frustration.  I’m still hoping iron deficiency is the cause of mine and it could take 6-12 months to see if this is even the case.

Check out Carolyn Rose “youtube” and her hair journey with iron deficiency it is 6 parts.  She goes into more detail about it.  My hairloss was also at hairline, but I do see baby hairs growing it.

Biotin and Vanagen.  The Vanagen is amazing.  After six weeks of not seeing my stylist, her hair was longer and glossier than I’d ever seen it.  She had started using Vanagen.

About 1.5-2 years ago, Synthroid made my beautiful, long blonde hair fall out.  And it’s very fine textured, though it’s growing in thicker.

So, I tried the Vanagen shampoo and conditioner; I’m getting great results.  I don’t even wash my hair every other day as they recommend, but my hair is growing like mad and it’s much fuller.

I use both the shampoo and conditioner.  It’s pricey, so I buy it from trustworthy sellers on EBay for about $60 for both.

It’s also saving me about $300-400/mo on hair products.

ETA:  I’ve been anemic for months.  The Vanagen works anyway.

Zenagen (Revolve) is this what you mean?  I also got from my stylist and like it so far.  But have only been using it a couple of weeks.

holls0102 :

Yes.  I apologize for the spelling.  I’m usually an excellent speller, but, this one always befuddles me. 🤭

It is really great stuff, though.

My stylist said it takes six weeks to get results.  I saw a difference right away.  By the six week mark, it was really dramatic.

sassy411 :  No worries – I literally had to go to my shower to find the bottle to figure out how to spell :-).  I love this shampoo and conditioner.  I’m going to try the styling products from this line.  I was looking in the mirror and I believe this shampoo and conditioner have helped in conjunction with my vitamin regimen.

You should see a doctor if the hair fall is along your hairline, because it will get difficult to conceal pretty quickly. It could be a hormonal imbalance.
