I really like the look of lanterns for our centerpieces/decor. Either mixed with flowers or just the lanterns. When we looked at the train station there was a ‘Train Convention’ going on and we saw some antique railroad lanterns. Which looks better?
IKEA Lantern w/candle (also available in Black):
Or Bronze Hurricane Lantern (venue has bronze fixtures, but thesee are the most $$):
Or any other suggestions?? What else should we put on the tables with the lanterns so it doesn’t look too bare? Thanks 🙂

The IKEA lantern isn’t showing up for me, but if there’s a major price difference, I would go with the black ones (not counting IKEA since I can’t see it!). I think the black will look just as nice and save you some money.
ETA: As soon as I posted, the IKEA lantern photo showed :/. Sorry! I still like the black ones the best, though, because the IKEA ones don’t say ‘train station’ as much as they do ‘garden’ to me.

@jo.lee: I think I fixed it. I had to attach another picture. The IKEA ones are cute, but don’t look like the ‘railroad’ ones which I thought might be neat for the venue.
What about mixing them? Would that look bad? The black ones at $5 (but I haven’t found enough yet) and the bronze ones are $15-25 depending on size. IKEA ones are $8-15 depending on size.

I LOOOVE the third one if you can fit it in your budget! I love the antique look and the bronze!

@Topolino: I do too! But shipping is $9 each too. So I’m probably looking at close to $350-400 for all of them. I’m thinking about doing half of the big ones and half of the small ones…maybe if I can find enough of the black ones I could do 1/2 of each.
Any suggestions on what else I could use to fill up the table? Especially if I do the smaller lantern on 1/2 the tables? What else should I put with them?
Anyone have experience with Kerosene or lamp oil? Someone said it might smell bad? Do you know how long it will burn?
Thanks In Advance
