That’s usually known as the cocktail hour!

So I would just say something like:

Cocktail hour anytime between 2 and 6pm in Room A

Dinner in Grand ballroom at 6pm

Yup, I would call it a cocktail hour.

Are you having a formal cocktail hour at 6 with dinner starting at 7 or does your dinner start at 6?  I definitely WOULDN’T call it it a “cocktail hour” since it’s not just an hour long (it’s more like a cocktail party and not a cocktail hour).  I would word it more like “Cocktails and hor’dourves will be served in the Blue Room at the Longwood Hotel following the ceremony.  Dinner will follow at 6:00pm at the Briarwood Manor.”
