I am having a classy/ elegant wedding and reception. I am trying to keep my costs as low as possible and I’m having trouble with reception centerpieces. My groom has over 100 mason jars, would it look out of place if I used the mason jars with different sized voltives in them lit at the reception?

Mason jar centerpieces can be as casual or as elegant as you like but they do tend to be associated with a more rustic/vintage theme. Do you have a theme for your wedding?
Can you stretch the budget to include a few flowers, moss balls, grapevine balls? something little for beside the jars

you could do some floating candes- but nix the raffia bows

the votives look good nested into coffee beans, pebbles, etc

@sunshine.lover: I agree with
@julies1949: My mom has a lot of mason jars…however, i always think of mason jars for rustic/country themed weddings. And I am so far from that type of bride. How about alternating the candles with flowers as well?

Mason jars do not say classy/elegant to me. They can be beautiful and charming, but I don’t think it is the look you are describing.
What are your colours? Any themes?
We are doing very simple arrangements of open white roses in glass vases. We will order the roses from Sam’s or from an online source at around 80 cents a stem depending on how many we order. The vases we will watch for in thrift/antique stores, and if we don’t find matching vases we will buy them online.

We will have tea candles floating in diamond patterned sherbert glasses. These are the exact ones.. We found around 30 of them for about 50 cents a piece at a flea market. The candles make them sparkle. Probably some pillar candles on mirror tiles.
Elegant doesn’t have to be expensive as long as you have a plan and are a little patient.
