We don’t know where to have the reception???
So my honey and I like everything we see but I think we would like to get married on the sand.
Should we have a tent reception over looking the beach ( at a state beach), a beautiful yatch or a country club? We have no idea and can’t seem to decide. Our family all thinks the yacht is the best idea but I wish there was higher ceilings.
The tent is great but we have to used beach bathrooms or porta poties : (
Country club would not be have a beach view but has chandeliers and high ceilings.
Please help did you all know what you wanted from the beginning?

It all depends on your presonal preference. I love the outdoors so I myself would choose either the beach or the yacht and would not even consider the country club for a second. Chandliers and high ceilings are not my thing. But many people would love a beautiful country club reception.
I think the yacht would be lovely as it has sentimental ve=alue to you both. But if you honestly can’t decide between venues, is there a significant different in price? Choose the cheap one, if you love them all, why not. If there is a difference in catering options, choose the one which you could get the nicest food at the cheapest price. Use different factors to choose. You will probably find you will be happy at any of them, unless you find yourself imagining one venue in preference to the others.
To answer your other question, yes, I knew exactly what I wanted from the start. But I think that made it even harder for me because I was so specific about what I wanted.

yacht or tent are my votes and I think both have more meaning. for the tent why don’t you rent chandeliers to hang? Look into renting a larger bathroom unit that looks like a trailer. Guests are only gonna go potty once if that but the tent will be all night and gorgeous.

have you tried pricing out the options? the yacht or country club might include things you’d have to rent for a tent, like linens, furniture, bathrooms, maybe even a power generator.
if i were you, i’d probably keep looking since it doesn’t seem like you love any of the options yet.

I’d go for the tent and rent the porto potty trailers that are a little nicer. I personally do not like weddings on boats, they always seem cramped and what if people get sea-sick?

I knew I wanted a fancy looking place with chandeliers, ( chandeliers were a must) and after LOOONG search , I found a banquet hall with beautiful chandeliers at the enterance and then in the room. Also I was looking for a venue that offered private bridal room.

Thanks for the replies all have good advice.
The beach does have sentimental value to us so I should consider that. I guess I could do the tent with chandeliers but it would take a lot of prep work.
As for the price they all seem to cost about the same. The tent might be a little cheaper if I just have a friend coordinate the day of.
