Hello Bees,
Just because I know you all love to show off your impeccable taste I’m throwing it out to you: Reception dress anyone?
I’m getting married in Mexico this April and I have yet to fully commit on a reception dress. I have my full length gown for the ceremony, but I am dying to find the “perfect” reception dress to cool me off a little for the dinner and dancing. What are you thoughts on a mini? I’m thinking I can get away with it as long as it’s cute and not too sultry…we will be in hot hot weather after all!
So here is what I need from you lovely ladies. Have you yourself worn a short reception dress?? Post your pics! Have you recently purchased a cute white mini? Post your pics! Do you have a wonderful idea for a reception dress?? Post your pics!!
Thank you in advance 🙂 🙂

I like the idea of changing dresses, but if I were to do it I’d have a ‘cutting the cake’ dress where I change after dinner. I think the ceremony is too short to only wear your real gown for.. but that’s just my opinion because I love my dress!

I don’t get the whole reception dress thing as a whole. If I’m gonna spend hundreds of dollars on a big ball gown I only get to wear once in my life, I’m going to wear it as long as humanly possible. It’s hard for me to justify paying that much for a dress for one day, much less only a couple of hours!
Of course, if you’re going to be absolutely dying in Mexico heat, I can see where having a lighter, more casual dress for later might be a good idea. 🙂

You only get to wear a wedding dress one day of your life so why not wear as many as you can!

I think you should go for it. Its your day do whatever you want!
I saw this Priscilla of Boston dress that I absolutely love for a reception dress.

I’m having a dressmaker make something just like it
