At the end of a long journey trying to find the perfect reception dress…I sit empty-handed and sad.
I looked endlessly for a reception dress since we first got engaged in December 2011. I had much better luck with my wedding gown. I finally happened upon the PERFECT dress at Cache. However, it was way out of my price range. I kept looking. One day, I noticed that my dream dress was on sale for $99!
I went to the local cache store that night and bought the dress! They didn’t have it in my size in store, so I ordered the correct size. Weeks passed and still no dress. Finally, I called the store to find out what was going on.
THEY HAD CANCELED MY ORDER. They didn’t contact me in any way to let me know that the dress was not available anymore…nor did they refund my money. That’s right. They were just going to NOT TELL ME and keep my money.
The woman at the store was extremely apologetic and explained that the national cache customer service does not inform them or the customer when an order has to be canceled due to unavailability. So I called their national customer service.
I spoke with the woman there who assured me that they DO inform them, and that the woman from the local store simply had to check their computer to see that the order was canceled THE DAY I ORDERED IT. Apparently it was her responsibility to inform me of this cancelation and refund me the money. I was told the store’s district manager was contacted about it.
The lady from Cache’s national customer service told me she would search all cache stores in the country for my dress in my size and call me back within the hour. Over 24 hours later, she finally calls and provides me with 3 locations that have my dress in my size.
Still hoping that my dreams weren’t crushed, I called the store closest to me (FL). The very rude and snippy woman at the store informed me that they “have nothing like that in the store.”
I called the second store located in Texas. Similar (but much more polite) response. Still no dress. I called the final location in California. She was very polite and explained that the national customer service had apparently been sending tons of people there looking for this same dress and that it had actually not been in their store for WEEKS.
All in all, Cache’s customer service is TERRIBLE. And now I am again without a reception dress.
