So while I was perusing the internet, I came across this bride and groom game-The Shoe Game. I hadn’t really considered playing a game at the reception, but I thought this might be fun. Basically, the bride and groom are seated back to back and they give eachother a shoe. Then, they are asked questions, such as who is the better driver, who is a better cook, who is the better dresser, who starts the arguments, etc. For each question, the bride and groom hold up a shoe to indicate their answer. You can read more about it at: http://www.rebekahhoyt.com/blog/2012/2/21/wedding-inspiration-the-shoe-game.html
Anyway, Here is my question. Do you think this would be fun and entertaining at the reception or do you think it’s corny? or is it cute and corny? LOL If you think it seems like a good idea, do you have any funny questions to add?

My mom surprised us with this game at our reception. People seemed to like it. I think our questions were like “who’s the best kisser?”, “who’s the bigger slob?” and last question was “who do you love most”, and we both stuck up our OWN shoe, because we’re terrible…

Every wedding I have been to does this, and if the questions are good (entertaining but not TOO provocative – ie. what is the most embarassing thing your SO does that they don’t think you know about? or who is most likely to say not tonight?), it is very entertaining and the crowd usually loves it! We aren’t doing this simply because in our family/crowd, it’s been done soooo many times. But if it’s a newish thing for your wedding crowd, definitely go for it!

@HVbride: I read this somewhere too and it sounded like fun. I’m curious to see what everyone thinks!

I was at a wedding where they did it, it was cute. I think it’d be good as long as it doesn’t last too long (like if you have a lot of bridal party dances, parent dances, couple dance, dollar dance, anniversary dance, garter/bouquet, AND this– it could be a lot for guests to watch– if that makes sense).

We did it, and everyone loved it! We pulled in my bridesmaid and her new husband (they were married 3 months before us) and it was a hoot!
