Are you playing any fun games at your reception? Which ones? I’ve seen the shoe game done so often now that I’m trying to think of something new to play at our reception! I want to keep our guests laughing/having fun.

Charades might be a good one.

You could do your own version of the Newlywed Game! That would be really fun and cute, you’d need someone else to ask you and your Fiance the questions ahead of time and either prepare cards with the answers, or if your venue has a projection area, you could put them in a Powerpoint-type slideshow.

Do you mind if I ask, what is the shoe game? Never heard of it.

The shoe game is when you have the bride and groom sit back-to-back, each with one of their own shoes in one hand and their mates shoe in the other. The DJ/MC asks questions like “who is more likely to..take out the trash?” “whos farts smell worse” etc and the bride and groom answer by putting the owners shoe in the air (i.e., if the bride thinks the grooms farts smell worse, she’d lift the hand with his shoe in it).

I like the Newlywed game idea. If you have the equipment at your venue you could make a video of you doing the game ahead of time and just show the video.

I like the shoe game. We played Deal or No Deal at our reception and it was a total hit! The NewlyWed game would be fun too!
