(Closed) reception ideas when no dancing

Do a brunch wedding.  People will drink less and will not be looking to dance as much.

To be honest, if you have an evening wedding with no dancing, people will probably get bored and leave early, unless there is a ton of other activity, and I’m out of ideas to keep people entertained without dancing.  You could always have dancing and just not dance yourself; you’ll be busy milling around talking to your guests anyway, so no one would question you not being out there dancing.

Unless you have a multi-course (5 or 6) meal and the food is center stage I would get bored just sitting.

Some people have cocktail reception type events- mingly and food stations all night. Yes, there’s typically a bar, but fancy mocktails are tasty too. 

@abbie017:  brunch wedding is a good idea too.
