Does the 5K include venue and all the food and drinks for a cocktail reception, lunch and dessert?

Do you want something within walking distance of the church? Or are you ok transporting people? There is a park in Bensonhurst and one in bay ridge. I don’t know what the rules are for parties– they certainly won’t let you put a tent up but you might be able to do some sort of folding tables / catering situation. Then you could play lawn games as you mentioned.

there are a lot of good restaurants in bay ridge. Tanoreen is elegant with good food. Lock yard is a bar that has an outdoor space and has a lot of hotdogs on the menu and craft beers. There’s also some sort of crazy bakery on 3rd Ave that has two floors of seating and some sort of cross between ballroom/ nightclub decor going on. Honestly k think the best thing to do would be to visit places for lunch and see what kind of place has the atmosphere you’re looking for.

mrstopaz :  I lived in Bensonhurst for my whole childhood but that was awhile ago so I dont really know of any good places over there, but I can ask around!  Also, do you need a photographer?

mrstopaz :  I want to say is ambrosia? It’s in 3rd Ave somewhere between 90th and 60th. If you’re driving down the ave at night you can’t miss it– big white facade, with like neon lights inside. I didn’t realize it was a bakery for like 3 years because it looks like a nightclub from the outside. Also I’ve never been inside but the green house cafe looks big enough for a reception.
