Tomorrow I’m meeting with a potential lighting designer at our venue to discuss what I have in mind for lighting and to get a quote. I’ve known from the very begining of planning that there were two decor type things I had to have: nice chairs and lighting. I’m very excited and have tons of ideas which he’ll hopefully help me narrow down depending on what looks best in the room. We’re definitely going to do pinspoting on the tables and dessert buffet. Then we’re either going to keep it dark and moody with some soft pink lighting towards the top fo the room or we’re going to do a light pink wash over the whole room. Our room has columns so we’ll see what will look the best.
For the bees having lighting, (whether professional or DIY), what was your inspiration? How did it turn out? post your lighting pics.

We are having soft pinkish gold uplighting around the perimeter of the room and a soft pink wash on the dancefloor because I was told its very flattering. We are doing a mix of high and low centerpieces. The high centerpieces will have pinspots, as will the cake table, DJ, and our sweetheart table (double pinspots on those three). The low centerpieces will not have pinspots because apparently the pinspots can get in people’s eyes when the focal point is so close to the table, so we are doing lots of candles in different shapes and sizes on the low centerpiece tables. This is my inspiration for the low centerpiece tables (though we are doing round tables):

Love your venue! Although it’s not your color, I thought seeing some pictures of lighting at your venue might be helpful. Here is a burgundy wedding from February of this year.
