Wow – that is beautiful!

I have a couple of ideas:
1. have the tables in a circle with a large dance floor in the middle of all the tables.  Helps your overall set-up take up more space so it doesn’t feel like half the room is empty.

2. Mentally divide the room in half.  Put all of the tables on one half and create a dance floor (and have the DJ/band) on the other half.  You have to put something on the floor that actually differentiates the “dance space” from the rest of the floor, but that way more of the space appears to be being used for a purpose.

3. Ask an event coordinator at the Casino at Catalina Island.  I’m sure you aren’t the first one to have a smaller wedding than what the space could hold.  They’ll have seen set-ups that work and set-ups that don’t and will be able to give you some good ideas.
