I am having such a hard time finding a venue for our reception. We have looked at PNC Park (Hall of Fame Club), Heinz Feild, Fairmont Pittsburgh… He loved PNC park, but I am afraid it isn’t “elegant” enough. The Fairmont had a ballroom that looked too corporate, Heinz was just a disaster. Any ideas or has anyone had their reception at PNC and has pictures?

I don’t know what your budget is, but there are plenty of elegant places in Pittsburgh. You can check out Carnegie Music Hall, The pittsburgh athletic association, soliders and sailors hall, the grand hall at the priory, the rivers club, duquesne club, the twenieth century club..
the list goes on and on! I don’t know how big your wedding will be but some of these places can hold up to 150 some others are 200.

We are looking at 100 on our guest list. I think my major problem is trying to plan a Saturday wedding, it is so expensive. We were trying to stick around 15,000 for our reception, but some of these places are 15,000 min, plus a 4,000 rental fee (C Music Hall). Fairmont Pittsburgh was 28,000 min (Ballroom was too corporate!) We may look into a Friday wedding to save money? Is there anything wrong with a Friday wedding??

I know Pittsburgh Grand Hall is $15k min on a Sat. Holiday Inn in Moon TWP is $10k min on a Sat.
With a Friday wedding, you may not have a lot of people at the ceremony because of work. You may also have people getting to the reception late depending on when it starts.
I’ve heard of some brides having their receptions at the Mattress Factory. Apparently it’s awesome.
I think most of the hotels around here start at $10k min on a Sat. It’s crazy.
We are getting married at Hartwood and not spending anywhere close to those amounts.
