Known it is a bit early to decide on the menu but it has been bugging me.
We have decided on the beef option and the fish option but don’t know what chicken option to go with or to go with the pork option instead. My question is of the three options in the poll which would you prefer to eat? Note house salad is served with all options and it will be a sit down meal.
Pan seared chicken breast topped with a savory mushroom Marsala sauce. Served with rice pilaf and seasonal vegetable.
8oz chicken breast pounded thin stuffed with asparagus and chevre rolled and baked to perfection covered with a lemon cream sauce. Served with seasonal vegetable.
Apple and sage stuffed pork loin. Served with your choice of herb roasted potato or rice pilaf and seasonal vegetable.
For reference the beef and fish we have decided on are:
12oz seasoned, slow roasted to a perfect medium rare, served with Au Jus. Roasted red skin potato and seasonal vegetable.
Fresh Atlantic baked Salmon topped with a maple Dijon sauce. Served with rice pilaf and seasonal vegetable.

well, I hate mushrooms and I hate asparagus – in fact both of those foods are pretty divisive among eaters. So pork I guess? Have you tasted it? Some people and places cannot cook pork so that it’s actually edible so I’d be a bit worried about that. Ultimately though, I’d just eat the prime rib or salmon, both of which sound delicious, so it probably doesn’t matter that I hate all the other options.

My venue unfortunately does not do tastings of the menu. They are kinda new to this whole wedding thing and haven’t quite figured things out yet.

The problem is you can’t please everyone no matter what choices you make. But you’re at least providing a variety of options which I think is great. I don’t eat pork so thats out for me. Of the 3 I’d pick the chicken marsala but not everyone loves mushrooms. Between two different meat options and a seafood choice I’m sure the majority will find a way to choose something that works. Unless you have vegetarians attending and no vegetarian entree? Then it might get complicated. Don’t overthink it, pick what you feel sounds most appealing since theres no tasting.

I wouldn’t eat any of them, but I would eat the beef option. I would say if those are definitely the only three options you have to choose from and there are no other options, that any of them would be ok; they’re not too out there or anything. I’d probably choose one of the chicken dishes though as I think you’d have a better chance of people eating chicken vs pork.

I voted for Chicken Marsala because I think it is a more well known dish and the sauce is almost like a gravy even though it has the mushrooms. This would appeal to the widest audience IMO. The roulade sounds interesting, but chevre and asparagus both will scare off a lot of the picky eater crowd. The pork actually sounds nice but I did not vote for it because many people have dietary restrictions that cause them to avoid pork.

Go with the Marsala. A lot of people do not eat pork, and asparagus makes your pee smell funny which could become a topic of conversation in the restrooms depending on your guests. You don’t want people remembering your wedding for smelly pee.

Oh no we are for sure having a vegetarian option just haven’t decided what it will be yet as I have the choice of providing a recipe for that area. Will be asking the couple of vegetarians coming what they would prefer but leaning toward eggplant parm right now.

Chicken Marasala. while some won’t like mushrooms the sauce is a rich sauce that is well known and relative pleasant and neutral ie not heave or distinct liek curry, hot and spicey, tomatoe – more generic with the nice wine sauce. It also tends to maintain its juiciness better. pork sounds nice but it is often a dietary issue as well as religious taboo. You won’t make everyone happy of course.

I’d go with chicken marsala because I don’t like goat cheese. I know a lot of other people who also don’t really care for goat cheese either, but you can’t go wrong with any of the options since you’ll have a veggie option, beef and fish.

Pork then roulade would be my choice
the chicken Marsala sounds horrible to my mushroom hating self, but it also sounds from comments here that it is really common in the USA & people either love it or will choose something else.
If you want safe, choose the chicken Marsala
if you want something tasty & a bit different choose one of the other options 🙂

I think Bees we need to stop thinking of ourselves and think of the majority. Pork can’t be eaten for religious and personal reasons by many. With few choices you need something to appeal to everyon ein the totality. With a vegetarian, beef and salmon option Chicken is logical as it is more universally accepted. The issue is which one. If people hat emushrooms that much they can go with the beef or salmon – both have a wide market so to speak.

Horseradish : lol I’ve been to hundreds of nice weddings as a wedding singer and every single one of the bathrooms smelled like asparagus pee…I think it just comes with the territory of having a nice wedding haha she won’t be the first wedding to have it if she goes down that path.

I would pick the dish with the biggest pasta/rice companion cuz not everyone is huge on meat as the main stake of their meal, many people NEED a rice/pasta with their meal. Then a couple can kinda share plates if necessary, one person can eat more of the meat and the other more of the rice/pasta.

I would choose a chicken dish over the pork. I believe a lot of people prefer chicken to red meat and seafood, me being one of them.
