It’s usually something along the lines of ‘invited to a reception to celebrate the marriage of…’

It helps if you clarify by stating ” John and Jane will be marrried in a private ceremony (date)

Please join us for a reception celebrating their marriage …”

It also helps if the ceremony truly is private and intimate.

Depends where you are. In the UK it would be called an evening invitation and would say something like 

Bride and Groom would like to invite XYZ to an evening celebration of their marriage etc
