hi, i’m in the same boat–trying to think of songs that are neither too upbeat nor too sleepy for a non-dancing reception.

here are some that i’m going to play at different times (separating up-tempo from down-tempo and whatnot):

  • the sweetest thing by u2
  • a little respect by erasure
  • i drove all night by cyndi lauper
  • no one by alicia keyes
  • life is a highway by rascal flatts
  • baby love by the supremes
  • build me up buttercup
  • stay from the dirty dancing soundtrack)
  • slow dance by john legend

those are some of them. what songs have you picked since then? i’d love some ideas!

This is the playlist I gave to my DJ. This along with his own picks thrown in had the dance floor packed the whole night. Granted we had a lot of younger people at the wedding, most of the adults danced too. I ended up ok’ing the electric slide and the cupid shuffle that night because we got so many requests for them and they both packed the floor!!
