Fiance recommends Almaden Country Club.  He also knows the people that own Cooper-Garrod Winery and he says it’s awesome, and probably a little more on the rustic side and I don’t think they do a ton of weddings.

Pedrizetti Winery is beautiful:

I’m shooting in the dark a little bit, because I don’t really know what your buget is…  I think there are a ton of great options in the area, though.

I don’t know exactly what feel you’re looking for, but friends of mine had their reception in the San Jose City Hall building and it was beautiful (though definitely a more modern look).

I think they really liked working with the people there as well.  I don’t know about ceremonies, they were married in a church first.  But the building is so cool!  And the space feels really comfortable even though it has a really high ceiling.  If I remember correctly they did cocktails upstairs, and then dinner and dancing were below so you could see that amazing ceiling from many different angles.

have you looked at restaurants? When we were looking for venues, restaurants had the best prices – little to no rental fee as long as you meet the food and bev. minimum. check out tarragon in sunnyvale, california cafe in los gatos, or loft bar & bistro in san jose.
