So, for a while now, our reception hall has lead us to believe that we would be able to come into the reception hall the day before and set up.
Today, 17 days until the wedding, I was informed that we can’t come in until 10 am the day of the wedding to set up. W. T. F.
Um…. we’re doing ALL the photos beforehand. I’m making my BMs be there at 12:30 to get into their dresses, with photos starting at 1.
Everyone who had volunteered their services for Thursday evening are the same people who will be needing to get ready Friday morning.
No idea how we’re going to make it work….

Why don’t you hire a wedding planner? Most of the ones I have come across will do a “Day of” package, they go to the hall and co ordinate everything, and do an itinerary for you for the day.

Time to recruit helpers who aren’t in the wedding party. People are usually more than glad to help, they just need to be asked, and to be told what you need done.

Yeah, this definitely sucks. I used to be a catering manager, and what probably happened was that they booked something in the room the night before. The industry sucks a lot, and it’s all about the money…if they can sell the room the night before, they’ll screw you in a heartbeat. I would definitely look into hiring a day of coordinator…will the catering manager at your venue set up any of the stuff for you??

@tinylittlebird: OMG – craziness! I know it’s so close to your wedding date, but if you have the budget it might give you peace of mind to hire a ‘day of’ coordinator. This is the route we are going, there is just not enough time before the wedding to set up and also get ready. Good luck * HUGS *

I third (forth?) the DOC. Check the WB classifieds to see if there are any DOC’s in your area offering their services for free or at a discount. We were able to score ours for free and I think it’s probably going to be the best thing we did.
