I’m liking 6pm. Not too early, but just late enough to have the fun foods you’re describing!

I vote for 6 or 7pm.  I like nighttime events a little better, it will be a good time to eat, and it won’t be as hot outside.

If you’re planning enough food to serve as a full meal, 7 PM.  If you’re just doing snacks, 2 PM.

Love your idea! I love the concept of having people arrive safely before the sun sets! Thats my goal for our wedding! I just figure its hard for people to find somewhere they might have never been if its dark! So 5:30 or 6pm might work great!

We are doing our ceremony and reception at the hall. The ceremony starts at 5PM and the dinner at 6PM. If that helps at all.

It sounds like evening would be best if you’re doing dinner and dancing, and especially if you’re serving drinks. It sounds like fun!

I think 7. That way if people aren’t grazers and want to eat dinner at home before they come they have enough time, but its still a meal time. Maybe say ‘Snacks and appetizers’ somewhere on the invite? or pass that info on verbally, so that people know whats up! 🙂

If it will be somewhere people haven’t been before, make sure it is before dark! It is so hard to find places in the dark.

Are the festivities outside or inside?

We had ours start around 4.  It gave us some nice sunlight for appetizers and socializing, sun was setting as we ate dinner and then by the time it was dancing time it was dark out and we had the decorative lights on.  I liked it.
