We are in a bit of a pickle and wanted to see other opinions on how to deal with this logistical challenge. We originally wanted 150 people at our wedding, but now we are having second thoughts and want to invite up to 200. Our ceremony space has the capacity for up to 200 so we are good on that front.
But our reception only has space for 150 seated. It is an open picnic pavilion at a conservation area so we were thinking of renting a tent to install on the side beside the pavilion to hold the buffet and guests. The problem is who to put in the tent? I don’t want anyone to feel like they were the “rejects” that didn’t make it to the main picnic area, so I thought perhaps Fiance and I, the bridal party and immediate family could be in the tent.
Would this be too challenging logistically with speeches and reception games? Or due to the casual nature of the reception venue people won’t mind so much as long as they have a place to sit? OR should rent a huge tent that would fit everyone and forgo the picnic pavilion but that would put a big dent in our very limited budget.
Here are some pictures of the venue space http://somethingturquoise.com/2016/06/29/romantic-rustic-wedding/
