I am having the hardest time finding a reception venue around the cleveland area that allows outside catering! I will have around 150 people at the wedding. I dont want something super expensive, but at this point I will take anything into consideration. This is the only part so far that I am stressing out about! Does anyone know of any places that would allow outside catering?

I had to do some digging… I didn’t think it would be so hard! I can see how you’d be having a difficult time! I found it to be a fun challenge, though 🙂
Galleria – May be expensive, but a cool spot
Wendy Park at Whiskey Island – Outdoor!
Lake Georgian Manor Mansion – Their website doesn’t say anything about rentals. But it looks amazingly beautiful!
Slovenian National Home
Bohemian National Hall
Here’s a pretty awesome list… It looks like quite a few of them probably have exclusive catering deals, but it may be worth it to go through the list and see what may work!

@shannbear:So I’m in the same boat that you are, I actually found a place that will fit 150 however, I dont know how far you are willing to travel. It’s St Gregory Of Narek in Richmond Heights. Its right off I271 and 480E. The lady who I spoke with is Marie. You can bring in your own caterer, but she also recommends a couple who are very reasonably priced. Hall rental is like $825 including security, kitchen and 6hr rental. If you need a caterer too look in to Aluzio’s Catering, they are based out of Youngstown and start @ $11.70 including tax! I have more details if you want.

It may be easier to choose a caterer and ask what venues they work with. There are very tight relationships between caterers and venues. It’s hard to a la carte these. Some place offer outside catering, but only from “The List”. I did come across Glidden House @ Case Western, and Cleveland Metroparks may be an option. Metroparks recommends booking a year in advance. What about B-W? They may have some options. The campus should be pretty well cleared out in July.
Columbus is pretty much in the same boat with vendors/caterers. I just lucked into a place in Columbus that has a full catering kitchen for use, and welcomes any catering company to use it.
