So, as soon as the New Year settled in I started to call all my vendors and touch base with them. Many of our vendors had been picked out for a few months and nothing really needed discussed until recently. Well the lady in charge of my reception venue isn’t calling Fiance back. He’s been the one in charge of the hall since day one so I figured it best for him to deal with her. We called her January 4th, and gave it a week. He’s called at least 2 times since then and even called the hall itself and left a message. I’m starting to freak out because I need to tell them how many linens to order, give her our choices for alcohol, and I need to take my DOC into the place to see what the best layout for the day would be. I don’t really know what to do. We’ve paid for the hall itself completely already. 3 weeks without a call back seems unacceptable to me but I don’t know what else we possibly can do. Any advice bees?

I think if they aren’t answering your calls, you might want to stop by in person and talk to a manager. Either this person needs to start paying attention to your calls or you need someone else that will help you since you have already paid for the hall.

I’m ditto on that. I would stop by during business hours and wait around to speak with someone. And if your Fiance is handling it, I would go there together. I hope that what you are dealing with is just bad customer service. Or their management has changed or something. Are you supposed to be giving them your choices soon? I know my venue pretty much doesn’t want to hear from me until 6wks before hand, so I haven’t had much contact with mine since. My only other thought is that if they aren’t expecting to hear from you right now, they might not think your calls are a priority. Either way, that’s not an excuse for poor service.
What I hope didn’t happen was that the place closed. I know that is a scary thought, but when I stood up in my MOH’s wedding, she called the bridesmaid’s dress shop about 6 times in two weeks with no response. Finally she had me go up there in person (she lived out of state at school) and the place had been closed up. Apparently, the owner wasn’t paying her taxes and the sherriff came and kicked her out. Fortunately, we were able to get the same dresses at another salon and in time, but super scary.
Good luck! I hope its just a matter of finding her supervisor.

Yes, can you go above her head? That’s what I would do because it seems like she is not doing her job. Do you have any alternate means of contacting her, such as email? I’d try that, too.
