@NanaimoBar: What else does that $150/head include? (all food, cocktail hour, linens, decorations?)

Depending on what it includes it could be very reasonable (especially since it includes the open bar).

Definitely check out a couple other venues. Fiance and I fell in love with the most expensive venue and we cut down our guest list to make it work. Now I’m struggling with invites/rsvps but for us it was worth it.

I think you should always shop around, just to see. You might be surprised with what you find. If you keep coming back to the original one then go with it. Good luck!

@NanaimoBar: That is a lot, but what is your total budget for the wedding? It depends on what you can afford/what you want to spend. Sounds like a venue like that may take a lot of the stress out of planning (since a lot is provided), but you have to pay for the removal of stress.

@NanaimoBar: I think at most the Venue/Food/Alcohol should be 70% of your budget. Can you cut back your guest list or pick a Friday/Sunday date to save money?

noticed you’re in montreal.. is the wedding in mtl as well?

what is your venue if you don’t mind me asking?

we’re having our wedding at a venue that comes with a lot and needs very little decor (flowers on tables would  be the only thing we’d bring in)… but the price reflects that.  in the end we decided we’d likely spend just as much if we went with a venue that needed to be decorated and we’d also have the headache of having to work that stuff out.

if you can’t decide,, maybe check out two or three more places and that will definitely help you make up your mind (especially once you get prices so that you can compare).

No, I used to live in Mtl so I was just curious if it was closer to Old Montreal (driving the price up).  I actually lived down the street from Le Windsor.  I’m in TO now and getting married in the distillery district (hence paying for a heritage site).

It’s a gorgeous venue… so I can see how you’re having a tough time!!

@NanaimoBar:  I am also looking at Le Windsor, it’s so gorgeous!

Where did you end up booking?
