- Wedding: October 2010
I’m DIYing our wedding invitations and I’m stuck on the wording of the reception insert. Both the ceremony and reception are held in the same general area…a hotel and a museum, next to each other. Our wedding at the hotel is 3 pm, and there will be an hour or so between the ceremony and reception. (The museum doesn’t close to the public until 5, so that is the earliest we can start our reception.) We’ve planned a “cocktail hour” after the ceremony (in quotes because not really cocktails, just refreshments) in a courtyard located in between the two buildings. Is there a “proper” way to say the cocktails are held at a separate location from the ceremony and the reception? This is what I’ve settled on:
Refreshments immediately following ceremony at [courtyard location]
followed by a five o’clock dinner reception at [museum location].
Do I need to list addresses if they’re all in the same area? (It is quite redundant to keep repeating the street name.) If not, how can I indicate that they’re all within walking distance? I’m thinking a map would suffice? Just wondering if anyone has a similar situation or knows of a better way to say this. As well as the fact that guests aren’t really allowed to enter the museum until 4:45…does that need to be specifically noted somewhere? Thanks bees…any suggestions would be great!
