Ok I am BACK! Been a while. Was supposed to be married by now but life happens and happened and NOW we 99% have the green light so now I am going back to looking and searching and all the fun yet stressful stuff. So I still have my heart set on Chateau Le Mer (very scared to find out if and how much the prices may have gone up cause what they quoted us was $1500+ than budget but I do now have it!) and I am looking at other venues to compare before we go back to Chateau Le Mer. I always planned on October and was crushed to find out October is peak but we have been planning October. Recently FH tell sme I “can have whatever you want”.. meaning the Christmas wedding I have secretly been wanting oh so badly. Not CHristmas DAY but anyday after Thanksgiving where the venue would be full of lights and trees n beautiful. So I have been calling for pricing for October and xmas time and have been told by most places now that you do not save any money from October until you get into January/February!!! I am LIVID!!! WTH is that??? So now December is just as expensive as October? This makes no sense if October is PEAK WEDDING SEASON and November/December is not.
So has anyone else noticed this and can relate? Vent! lol Does anyone know of any nice places for 100 people that are for sure UNDER $100/pp in Long Island without going further east of Lindenhurst (We will be living in Staten Island, don’t want to go TOO too far)
Thanks fellow Bees! Good to be back <3

@StarIzInkd: I live right near SI now but in NJ …. we are getting married at Davids Country Inn in Hackettstown, NJ. I know its probably not good location wise for you but it could more intimate if you have like a “mini destination wedding”..It’s a pretty easy ride from NYC and I don’t think it’s bad from SI /Middlesex county, NJ.
We are getting a decent price and lots of extras no other places can hold a candle to for only $113 a head including tax & tip. Sept & Oct are really popular months to get married. If you want to save go for Jan-April or August and July. My venues prices were around the same range for August as they were for the winter. I think bc it’s so hot but that doesn’t matter to me bc nothing will really be outside but pics.

we were told the same thing about October. I’ve had my heart set on an October wedding for YEARS i mean YEARS. I was shocked to find out apparently it’s peak season… Since when? You can look at West Lake in Patchogue as a venue. It’s a little dates i’ll be honest but the staff is friendly and the price we were quoted was $85 per person. If you’re willing to move it to November or December go to Windows on the Lake. I’ts the most beautiful place i’ve seen so far. . The price i was quoted was $90 per person. Frank was nice but a little pushy. There is a cheaper menu option with less choices, you just have to ask. They will NOT freely show that to you. I was glad my mom was there and asked for it. It’s like a $3000 difference. They have a bridal showcase November 24th at 5PM. I’ts a Sunday

I think it just depends on the venue. My venue just charges a minimum for food and beverages spent. It does change depending on season and day of the week… however, even at the lowest meal plan we’d easily meet the highest minimum.

Yup, most places were May 1-Oct 31 for “in season” prices. Crazy! I can’t help you out with any venues, as we were trying to stay out east! 🙂 Check out LIWeddings, there are a lot of helpful ladies there!
