You’re totally fine with that.

We used “Jump In The Line” by Harry Belafonte (aka, the song at the end of Beetlejuice)

I actually love this song, just not wild about the intro. 😋 Go for it! Hadn’t considered a recessional song since everything is in one place. But if it were needed maybe I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith.

That would be awesome! We used a Beatles song, and I loved being able to personalize my ceremony music.

we’re doing an instrumental version of “Home”. i know it’s a bit on-trend, but i went through a million recenssional songs and just couldn’t find one that really struck me. home was the closest – wanted something upbeat, that sounded good as an instrumental, but wasn’t crazy.

I think it’s fine and I like using less serious songs for things like this.  However, my one nitpicky thing is that unless you’re a same-sex couple, I personally dislike songs that clearly single out a gender (i.e. “Girl you just don’t realize…” “Girl you got me thirsty…” “Got a bug from you girl…”) for something that is representative of the couple as a whole.  It’s like it’s one person singing about how great the other is rather than celebrating how each feels about the other and their love together.  Again, it’s super nitpicky.  It’s a song I would totally rock out to at a reception, but feel like it was too one-sided for a recessional.

heavenlyflower :  I agree — I would probably edit out the intro a bit (or else your whole walk will likely be the uga chucka part)

but its SUPER easy to edit a song and cut it down to what you want

You can do whatever you want for the recessional. We did Shine byCollective Soul. It’s hubby’s favorite of all time so I had them play it as a surprise for him.

We don’t have it 100% yet. I really like the idea of Love Me Like That by State of Sound, though.

I prefer cheerful upbeat recessional songs.

We’re using Ray Charles ‘I got a woman’… it’s perfect for us

We’re using Always a Woman by Billy Joel for the processional….something upbeat for the recessional, that’s one of the only things my fiancé has an opinion on
