@SusieNor:  UGH I see the shoulder thing. What I would do since the dress is unsymmetrical anyway. Is get a matching fabric and insert the panel on the side from where the sheer bit ends to the zipper seam on the left. Down to the part where it gathers.

If your hand with a sewing machine you could DIY it but if not maybe ask around or in worst case see a seamstress.

@SusieNor:  Sorry it’s hard to explain! I feel like if you started a panel from where the lace part ends it wouldn’t look like you just stuck it in there.

UGH I’m so sorry! That is awful. What a shady business!

oh no! I’m so sorry to hear this! Is there any update? Did they refund you at least? Can you get your refund through PayPal?

Did you pay with a credit card? Might want to try talking to your credit card company to seeif they can help. Sorry to hear you were disappointed like this. πŸ™

@SusieNor:  Paypal should definitely be able to help you out. When I bought my dress from Preownedweddingdresses.com I called Paypal first to make sure that my transaction would be covered just in case the dress wasn’t as described when it arrived, or anything and they completely emphatically said yes, that I wouldn’t have to worry. It may take a little time to get the dispute through so in the mean time I would give Paypal a call and ask them if altering the dress will affect your dispute any..

@SusieNor:  Girl I would be busting out the safety pins right about now. Do you know how many “alterations” I have done at the last minute with those things?

Time to run to the nearest fabric store, pick out the closest fabric you can to match the dress, and go to work. Fold the zipper part inwards so that the edges don’t show and pin them to the material as securely as possible. You may have to have someone help you, but it will be secure. Then just find a cute clutch and carry it around under your arm whenever possible. You can also kind of hold it in front of the dress to distract from it being asymmetrical. While you are holding flowers just keep your arms mostly down and I doubt anyone will notice.

That’s great that you are getting refunded! Is there any way you could sew sheer navy fabric as side panel inserts? If you did it on both sides, it would “go” with the sheer fabric on the chest, but would still look balanced. You might have to be sewn into it though :-/
