Okay. I am so torn. My wedding is at 4. the ceremony is 30 min – so the preacher says – and then I have 30 minutes to take all the family pictures that I can before I have to vacate the church so they can clean and get ready for the next bride ( one of the pitfalls of 11/11/11). My reception directly after the ceremony about 1/2 a mile from the church. However I want to take a billion pictures with my new Darling Husband and in my awesome dress so I don’t think we will make it to the cocktail hr.
I want to do a receiving line – like in The Godfather – Part 1 when Connie gets married and she has her “wedding purse” slung over her shoulder and everyone keeps putting money in it. But I can’t do it after the ceremony – no time – and I can’t mingle at the cocktail hr – won’t be there. So how on earth can I manage that? I really don’t like the idea of spending $$$ on a card box that as my Fiance so put ” we are just going to toss as soon we get home from the Honeymoon and cash all the checks – mind you neither of us are expecting a lot of monetary gifts.
I just really don’t want to walk around to 10 tables and interrupt people while they are eating (and Fiance really wants to eat after the wedding).
We are having about 90 people. 10 tables. Reception is from 4:30 to as late as 1 am. We will depart around 12 if people are ever still there.
Thoughts? What would you do?
