It’s Mr CL and my anniversary on Friday, and exactly a year until our wedding day so I’d like to cook him something delicious for when he gets home from work. He’s not a fishy person, but more or less anything else is fair game. What do you lovely people recommend? I’ll probably end up doing a few smaller courses, just so as it feels a bit more special.

I would make
Steak with blue cheese sauce, homemade wedges and salad (a fancy salad with leaves, balsamic vinger, pine nuts, feta.
I would start with Salmon Bellinis but not into fish maybe garlic dough balls
For desert, I’d have Salted caramel and popcorn ice-cream and NY style cheesecake
To drink – Prosecco and Cosmos

Sorry – I read it had been a year since your wedding. DUH.
For starter:
Fresh Mussels steamed in a red wine and chorizo sauce
Main:
Pork steaks with a balsamic apple sauce and pureed sweet potatoes.
Dessert:
Eaton Mess (in a bowl or on you for some great anniversary shennanigans! lol)

Ooh, they sound really yummy! I think I’ll probably do steak as he doesn’t get to eat it much as it’s too expensive 🙂 The mussels sound lovely but he wouldn’t eat them 🙁 Perhaps something to treat myself to next time he goes out with the guys!

My “go-to” man meal is steak, either grilled or done swiss-style. OR, prime rib 🙂 I make a simple caesar salad, potato gratin or a fancy twice-baked baked potato, a cheesecake for dessert with his favourite fruit topping…voila!
Happy anniversary!
