I have the LG ENV3, with a full key board, and I like it.  It has a decent camera.

What carrier do you have? Phones differ by carrier?

i have an older version of the Env3. Right now I am looking at the LG Cosmo that just came out for Verizon about 2 or 3 months ago roughly. Actually that will be my next phone as soon as I am able to pony up the money to renew my contract since I haven’t had a contract on my phone for a couple months now. But I am definitely a candy bar style phone girl, so I wouldn’t be able to recommend any of the flip phones. My little sister has the Blackberry Curve, one little brother has the droid, the other little brother has the LG Env Touch, and both of the parents have the LG Env 3. My parents definitely aren’t texters at all and love their phone.

I’ve had two LG phones and have not been happy with the way the menus are set up.  I currently have the shine and there’s something up with the antenna because I never get as many bars as other people in the same network.  The earpiece heats up if I’m on it for more than 1 minute and the sound is not very clear.

I love my Blackberry. I don’t think I will ever go back to any other phone.

I had to switch to Verizon when I moved from Texas to North Carolina because for some reason my fiance picked the butt hole of the world to move to and there is no AT&T service here… at all. So bye bye iPhone (which I still miss). I now have an EnV touch and it is okay… I’ve only had it a few months and the camera is already cracked.. I’m blaming it on my two year old.

It freezes up sometimes but its nothing that taking the battery out won’t fix… it is okay. It has a full keyboard which is something I wanted as well cause I’m a huge texter. Overall I guess I would say its okay… I might try the droid. It looks pretty cool.. I heard it had issues too but it seems like every phone has its little quirks.

I’ve had an iphone and I switched to Sprint to save some $. Ended up with the Palm Pre which I LOVE LOVE LOVE! Even more than the iphone. I know that Verizon has the Palm Pre Plus. I’d highly encourage you check it out!

Yea, I have the EnV 2 and I love it (hear the EnV 3 is pretty similar). It’s probably not available in stores anymore, but perhaps someone can attest to whether these pros and cons apply to the newer EnVs. It’s awesome for a basic phone, nice BIG keyboard (typing is super easy), and DURABLE! I’ve dropped it more than a few times and it has a few dings but still works perfectly. It’s a little big and clunky (my boyfriend calls it the calculator phone), but I like that because it’s easier to hold onto (and it also has a kind of rubberized back to it that makes it less slippery). The only complaint I have about it is pocket dialing/switching off. I just can’t keep it in my pocket, ever, or someone will get butt-dialed. Also, because of how the camera lens is situated on the outside, it got scratched pretty quickly and now takes blurry pics (hopefully they fixed this on the newer versions).

But based on my experience, I would definitely recommend an EnV! I’m upgrading soon to a smart phone.. Any recommendations for Verizon smart phones? I was just looking at the Kin Two today (saw it on Gossip Girl, lol).

The Env2 is still smaller then my EnV. But mine has a ton of scratches and still works like the day I got it.

@jamiemichelle: Verizon will be having a version of the Iphone sometime in the coming months so check that out. But depending on what part of North Carolina you are in, then AT&T may have better service. But nothing beats Verizon in the mountains of North Carolina (where I was till about a month ago) and it actually had all my friends beat when we were in the Epicenter in Uptown Charlotte. I was the only one with service out of every single person there that day and I was the only one with a Verizon phone when we were in the garage area of the Epicenter.

@kirabee: is it still dialing with you have the keyguard on? I haven’t had that problem at all with sitting on my phone with the keyguard on unless somehow you are sitting on it where it just deactivates the keyguard.

Vttp926 – Yep! I have the keyguard automatically set, my butt still deactivates it and calls someone (usually the first person on my contact list, who happens to be one of my professors.. awkward!). My brother has this phone also and he set his to a two-step keyguard (it’s like, press OK, then press CLR or something) which would probably make it harder to butt dial, but I haven’t figured out how to activate that.
