I am trying to plan a fusion Sikh Wedding. I am a Sikh female marrying a Catholic. We are having a traditional Sikh wedding at the gurudwara, but I would like to include few western elements in the Sangeet and the Reception.
Please recommend a wedding planner, preferably in Chicago area who can handle fusion weddings.

I can’t personally recommend a planner who’s familiar with Sikh weddings, but the following website might be a good place to start your search:
One thing I should mention about your future husband being Catholic… If he’s very steadfast in his religion, attends church each week, etc, you should seriously consider also having a Catholic wedding ceremony in addition to your Sikh ceremony. The reason I say this is because Catholics strongly believe that the marriage union should be done as a sacrament, and your future husband would be committing a significant denial of his own religion if you didn’t have a Catholic priest present to bless the union. You should talk to him about whether that is important to him or not, if you haven’t discussed it with him already. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or conerns about it.
Best of luck!

You can also try Sapna Weddings out of Toronto – they are amazing!
