Hive – I’m in need of your suggestions. Since I love surrounding myself with people smarter than me – I turn to you! 🙂
Frogger and I are cruise people and have a few cruises in mind for our honeymoon…which is fast approaching and like the procrastinators that we are, we haven’t booked anything yet. So, I’m wondering if any of you have a recommendation for a travel agent that specializes in cruises. In the past we have always booked it ourselves online but I’ve heard that for a honeymoon, it can be helpful to go through an agent who has established relationships with the cruiselines. Any help is much appreciated!!

If there is an expedia cruise ship centre near you, they are FANTASTIC! I have used two in my area, and my sister uses one out west, they are great for prices, and are always really helpful!

Vacations To Go is great for deals on cruises. You can search their listings online and call to talk to an agent. When I booked my cruise (in March), however, I found that many prices I got from agents were the same if not more expensive than booking through the cruise line (we went on Norwegian). Additionally, when you book through the cruise line, you can get additional perks. We got coupon books delivered to our rooms, and when we noticed that the listed price online dropped, we were able to call the cruise line and score a room upgrade!
Also, check out the forums on Cruise Critic before you go. What a great resource for cruise and port-of-call information! We booked all our excursions through independent vendors we heard about on Cruise Critic.
