I stayed at the Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana, last November. I had attended a wedding there. It was nice because it was the only one in that area that you didn’t need to have a wristband for.

We like the Bahia Principe Ambar or Esmeralda…they’re on the same property but Ambar is adults only. Surprisingly the Esmeralda was quieter though…sometimes adults are more Wild and noisy than kids 😉.  We have stayed at both multiple times

We went the DR for our honeymoon, stayed at the Excellence Resort.  Far away from airport, 45 minute trip, but we LOVED it.   Adults only, mostly couples, very relaxing.

I also stayed at the Excellence on a vacation last year. The honeymoon suite is amazing and so worth it. Free sparkling wine whenever and wherever you want. The pools and beach were lovely. However, I thought the food could have been better, though I have this gripe with all all-inclusive places.

I’ve also heard that the Mexico locations are nicer but haven’t gone myself.

We stayed at the reserve at paradisus. It was awesome and the food was amazing. The rooms were great 24 hour room service just wonderful ! I would go back just make sure it’s the reserve because you get your own section and beach but you can still use the other resort also.

Also have friends that loved iberostar both the adults only and the normal resort.

good luck! It’s a great place to go. 😀

Following and highly interested in the Iberostar Grand and Iberostar regular Bavaro. I’m leaning more towards the regular. For the cost of the Grand from Toronto, I’d rather do Aruba

Pipping up as I can’t say exactly where to go but I will say where not to go- Majestic Elegance! We went there for vacation this July and hated nearly every minute. Won’t bore you all with details but a few highlights: my fiance said food in the Army was better, served raw chicken, smelly rooms, overcharges, refusal to left us leave, this list goes on and on.
I know many people rave about DR but after our experience I have no desire to go back. Also not sure when you’re going but if it’s anytime soon all of the Caribbean and especially DR is dealing with seaweed. It’s a serious issue if you want to spend time in the water. They have bulldozers out trying to keep the beaches clean. Not their fault but they can’t keep up with it.

One other tip, if you want to eat authentic food and see the real Punta Cana check out the little restaurant El Rincon del Marisco! Best food we had the whole time!!!
