Hi ladies! The hive is always so helpful with these sorts of things, so I am turning to you again. I am about to pull my hair out trying to find a decent hair/makeup artist in the SF area, but more towards the South Bay (San Jose). I love Maria Chang’s work, but its way out of budget. Price-wise, I’d like to keep it under $350 for both hair and makeup. I’m also looking for someone who’s experienced in doing Asian makeup. My everyday "look" consists of a ponytail, lotion and maybe some chapstick/lip gloss, so DIY is not an option, haha. I’ve already checked out Joanne Yim, but I wasn’t too impressed. The hair and makeup person doesn’t have to be the same person, I’d be willing to go to two different vendors. Thanks in advance!

I have been impressed with Head to Toe Salon. I just got my hair done there this weekend. it is in San Jose, near 17 and Camden. The owner, Michelle, did mine. She personally trains everyone else, and they are cheaper to use.
My makeup is being done by makeupbyblush.com
They are in Willow Glen. They do airbrushed makeup. They are a little more expensive, but makeup fades on me quickly so it seems worth it.

Yes you should see Vicki at Mia Bella salon in San Bruno – 1310 El Camino Real Suite F #650-808-9828, she travels and will go to you for hair/make-up. In order for her to travel there is a minimum requirement of BM’s that will have their hair/make up done. She’s really good, she’s done a few of my friends weddings already and she’s been doing this fot years. I can send you pix if you like of hair/make up she’s done. let me know. She’s Asian and done a lot of Asian weddings for tea ceremonies so she understands the early start times. here are reviews on the salon itself http://www.yelp.com/biz/mia-bella-san-bruno
