Is anywhere in Canada an option? My venue is Viamede Resort – it’s on a lake in the Kawartha area of Ontario (cottage country). There are also tons of small resorts in Muskoka (another cottage area of Ontario). The downside is that the Kawartha’s are about 1.5 hours from the airport, and Muskoka is 2.5 hours north of the airport… but if it’s fall colours she’s after Muskoka brings in international tourists every fall just for that reason!

Banff, Alberta or Lake Louise, Alberta are other options (and more west) – absolutely beautiful, and in the mountains – though mostly evergreens. About 1 – 1.5 hours from the airport if I remmember correctly.

There are tons of areas to choose from really – so much of Canada is outdoorsy! *lol*

I second Banff and/or Lake Louise (yes, they are both about 1 – 1.5+ hours away from Calgary, where the nearest international airport is. And me too!) They’re VERY beautiful but also filled with tourists. Tofino, BC or Victoria, BC might be a good choice. Anywhere in the Okanagan would be great if she wants fresh fruit, wine and a high chance of beautiful weather. If she wants more rustic, maybe Jasper, AB or Waterton National Park? If she likes Anne of Green Gables, why not PEI? If she’s really keen on multi-coloured leaves, I’d go somewhere in Ontario or Quebec, like NixLapi suggested.

Prince Edward Island is beautiful in the summer and fall. I would have done mine at Rossignol Winery but I chose a location closer to where I live called Gallery 18. They haven’t had many weddings there but the place is beautiful and rustic, if you are into that. Check it out.

I would strongly recommend checking out the Timbers Resort on Pender Island in British Columbia.

You can rent out the entire facility for four days and it’s gorgeous.

Where in Canada are you/her thinking? Niagara on the Lake is gorgeous all year round, if she wanted a winter wedding some places will even arrange sleigh rides and such for guests. Maybe this site will be helpful although it is dedicated to Toronto area venues. http://venuesource.ca/

I live in Vancouver BC and when we were choosing our venue (Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country Club) we made this list to choose from……

-Brock House

-Seasons in the Park (QE Park)

-Hart House

-Stanley Park Chapel

-Minoru Chapel

There’s also a lot of stuff on the island too (so goole places like Tofino, Victoria, Harrison Hot Springs)

Sun Lotus on Vancouver Island is the coolest outdoor wedding venue that I know of. They have weekend wedding packages that are really affordable. You have the entire 10 acre venue with pond for 3 days and 2 nights. Check them out: http://www.sunlotus.ca
