I’ve been reading about folks RSVPing and not showing up to the wedding. Which I think is just RUDE!!! In an effort to minimize the no shows, do you think it’s possible to call/email and just reconfirm their attendance? We budgetted for 100 and are over by six. I just don’t want to waste money on food if people aren’t going to show up. How did you guys handle this situation? Should I just confirm 100 with my venue?

Are you having a sit-down dinner? If so, I would make sure you tell your venue the count is 106. What about ceremony? Will they have specified number of chairs according to your guest count?
I understand your point but we’re not reconfirming.

We reconfirmed with a few people and i’m glad that we did. We still had a few guests that rsvp’s yes and we didn’t reconfirm not show up. But some of the people we reconfirmed with, were “wishy-washy” people to begin with, and reconfirming with them made them make a decision and stick to it because it was only 2 days before the wedding. It saved me work from not having to make their favors/escort cards for the ones that had things come up and couldn’t attend.
